This is near Roberta's and many call the area Bushwick, including me. The true hardcore say (quote) "Bushwick is traditionally considered to begin at Flushing and Bushwick, and south on Bushwick from there." Whatever -- I went in a coffee shop near this mural and the denizens I would describe as "looking like the cast of Hackers but they're actually Google employees." If that's considered more Williamsburg than Bushwick, then good for Bushwick.
The mural is some kind of testimonial for Adobe Creative Suite -- my dumbphone camera didn't pick up the credits. :(
An indignant review of this billboard will soon appear in Frieze magazine.

defaced subway ad, 49th st NRQ
One of those specimens of impromptu public art where a knife is used to cut a section out of a subway poster to reveal another poster underneath.
Petra Cortright painting, sidewalk, 27th Street
Spotted this original Cortright painting, surrounded by paparazzi and art handlers, while walking around Chelsea today.
collect pond park
Am interested in the aesthetics of my non-smart phone's camera -- no arty filters here, and no "social" -- but I like the flattening out going on in this pic, and a hint of urban bleakness, courtesy of decisions made in the Samsung technicians' lab. This photo was taken while sitting, waiting to meet a friend at the new Postmasters gallery space a block away from this historic site.
Addendum: Am guessing that lower tier of concrete is supposed to be filled with water, a reminder of the lake that was once on this spot. It's not, just some puddles, making this park look even bleaker than it did before it was renovated a couple of years ago.
