"Trippmatic Variation"

"Trippmatic Variation" [mp3 removed]

A Frankenstein's monster (or munchkin) of electronic music influences based around a vaguely calliope-like analog synth patch. The drum and bass beats came from a mix I d/led several years ago. The website, Peaceoff, is still up but this mix appears to be history. The download came with a jpeg, however:

"Mini-Maximizer (Extended)" [mp3 removed -- a revised version of this track is on Bandcamp]

A longer version of a track posted below.
Same instrumentation but with variations of timbre and pitch in some newly-recorded segments. The main additions are double-LFO-syncopated synth lines slightly out of step with the beat.

The percussion is mostly the Vermona DRM1 mkii; the synths mostly Reaktor (Lazerbass!). The track was inspired by watching some Vermona gear demo'd live on YT and wishing the "sequencer runs" could be more concise. One could dance to this, probably, but not for long.

"Monotone Waltz"

"Monotone Waltz" [mp3 removed]

This isn't all monotone and it's too short to be monotonous but two of the main instruments stick pretty much to a single note throughout. This is another piece where a live-synthesis "jam" is cut up and made into loops, so it's mostly about the editing. And it is in waltz time.

"Electro Suite No. 1"

"Electro Suite No. 1" [mp3 removed]

One of my occasional soundscape-type pieces. Instead of MIDI clock this is LFO-driven: the LFO wave triggers a kick drum sound that gets faster and faster until it's just a solid wall o'kicks. Various digital reverb and delay effects add some "atmo."
