"Nine Inch Bells (2013 Mix)"

"Nine Inch Bells (2013 Mix)" [mp3 removed]

I did this in 2005 and still like it pretty much. Two things I have learned since then: (i) a brick wall limiter is a good thing to have and (ii) when you have one minute of material don't make a 2.5 minute song. Hence this remix.

"Rack Dance 2"

"Rack Dance 2" [mp3 removed - a remixed version of this track is on Bandcamp]

Still Octatracking modular synth recordings.
This song was made with six 64-step loops (two with beats, four with synth lines), all recorded with sounds from some combination of Eurorack modules.
The beat loops are sliced and individual slices are played as added beats, some with reverb and retriggering effects.
The beats were originally digital rhythm synth hits, saved at 22.5 KHZ sample rate and played with the ADDAC wav player, with LFO-d analog filtering that varies the pitch and texture.

Update, Aug. 2013: Bumped the volume and re-uploaded.

"Tiptop Harmony Variation"

"Tiptop Harmony Variation" [mp3 removed -- tune is now on Bandcamp]

Back to Octatracking modular synth recordings.
Here a group of loops were recorded and a sort of mini-house song plays different combinations of them, sometimes varying start and end times to add more wrinkles.
Have been listening to old Steve Reich compositions where he used tape recorders. I bought the vinyl of "Violin Phase" because all the versions after that used live players. Humans, bah.

"T.H.I.N. Lab Song"

"T.H.I.N. Lab Song" [mp3 moved to Bandcamp]

This song was made entirely with proprietary software! LinPlug Alpha (synths); Reaktor GoBox (beats); Cubase (production and sequencing). No hacking took place in the making of this music.
Rudimentary composing skills and an "ear" were employed in order to make the software do something.
