This track started with cut-up pieces from "Little Computer Tune."
A riff from the St Celfer sample archive was added, also one made with the Helm softsynth.

The screenshot of the Tracktion Waveform DAW tells you little or nothing -- that is to say, as much as the wave file images that Soundcloud uses. A crude "indexical" record of the music, not a score per se.

Was visiting fruitfly and peef in Houston and we found various beats and sounds on the internet and "played" them on our respective laptops (notably cowbells and weird laugh). Peef recorded the session and I cut it up into small loops to make this track. At the end I added some piled-up musical motifs, using Socalabs' vintage computer game chip emulations (running as plugins in Tracktion Waveform) and other software instruments.

Various FM patches from Native Instruments' FM8 synth, running on Windows 7 and captured in Tracktion's Waveform DAW on a Linux PC (where the sounds were mixed and edited). Tracktion's own FM Synth provided bass parts. The main percussion sounds are from Ableton drum kits, also streaming from W7.

The squeaky parts are overlapped performances in the Qu-Bit Nebulae, a granular synthesis module. The loaded wavs consist of percussion hits and sounds from Qu-Bit's "Metal Shop" field recordings [link rescued from Google cache].

Another tune using "Volt," a strings-like preset from the E-Mu Orbit 9090 vintage synth module. Many of the same samples and sampler instruments were used as in the track "Volt Variations." Also heavily featured are a collection of 8-bit videogame emulating instruments from Socalabs (RP2A03, PAPU, SID, SN76489). The snare hits appropriated from a famous Detroit guy (played in Tracktion Waveform's Multi Sampler instrument) make an extended appearance. There is a brief middle section that uses snippets from a laptop jam with peef and fruitfly (hat tip joel cook).
