"Broomlike (Analog Sketch)"

"Broomlike (Analog Sketch)" [mp3 removed]

A 303-ish "live" solo synth part from a more elaborate piece I'm working on, with beats added later (from a Battery 2 kit played with the midi demo for another kit, transposed 7 half-steps--kind of a nice shuffling gait.)

"Analog_Sketch_a4"

"Analog_Sketch_a4" [mp3 removed]

Another piece where the LFO determines the rhythm; external midi notes move the pulse up and down three octave jumps. Beats were matched to this, then a simple digital melody with time lag delay (an Absynth preset) added over the top.

"Biting Midges"

"Biting Midges" [mp3 removed -- later version is on bandcamp]

Furious scratching at beginning gives way to homage to a fave drum and bass melody from 1994. Some RMV snare and hat loops are used. The structure of this is a bit odd.

"Traipsing Day"

"Traipsing Day" [mp3 removed]

An analog synth and sampled analog percussion. I used some "midi grooves" to trigger most of the beats. While I was working on this Training Day was on cable. One of the worst movies ever made--everyone involved clearly thought they were "way out there" on the filmic edge.

Analog Sketches 1-3

"Analog_Sketch_a3" [mp3 removed]

"Analog_Sketch_a2" [mp3 removed]

"Analog_Sketch_a1" [mp3 removed]

These are minimal objects, or haikus, made with an analog synthesizer. Sketch a1 is almost entirely analog (the pulse is an LFO modulating a square wave with FM frequencies creating syncopations). The other sketches have simple melodies performed with midi note-on commands.
