"Electro Groupie"

"Electro Groupie" [mp3 revised and moved to Bandcamp; a "beats only" version is also on Bandcamp]

Similar to "Selectro One" in setup but with a little more conventional song structure and less weird effects. In all these recent songs I am letting the drums and effects sounds determine the melodies.

"Secret Skyway"

"Secret Skyway" [mp3 removed]

Before garageband there were garage bands.

Trance loop (effected and not) running under "live" MIDI-triggered analog beats (some effected but most not).

"Digital Wrongs Management"

"Digital Wrongs Management" [mp3 moved to Bandcamp]

Took "Broomlike (Remix)," subtracted the bass line and added some new percussion parts. A MIDI pattern is triggering a commercial software drum kit as well as an analog rhythm box. In the latter some of the beats are getting live effects treatment using an insert cable to a laptop running Reaktor as a standalone plugin host.

Update: A couple of slight tweaks to remove bad rubs between sounds.

"Broomlike (Remix)"

"Broomlike (Remix)" [mp3 removed]

My speakers don't like all the bass on this one (computer speakers will lose some of it). The piece is a little noisy and strange--still thinking about it.

Update: Posted the first remix I did of this tune and took down Version 2; changed the title of this post to reflect the substitution. The first version has more going on--an additional rhythm track. Still thinking about this. Usually this is the point where I add a melody that either overwhelms, pulls the tune together, or both. Am trying to break the pattern.
