Two from TM-ucce - a genuinely strange, free-wheelingly imaginative blog from Mike Francis, who posts as foot on dump.fm. His morphing, blobby, vector-like characters remind me somewhat of Paper Rad's Flash videos, but there's also a desultory found object sensibility more in tune with the barely-sequitur image pairs and trios he posts on dump. The lettuce-meme-as-spinning-corporate-logo in the top image, for example.

Related is a video of Francis', "Snail News" [YouTube], which features a newsstand exploding in slow motion, catapulting a snail through the roof in a manner not quite in harmony with the laws of physics or perspective, while a severely timestretched torch song plays on the soundtrack. Before I put twitter on likely permanent pause was working out a theory of the "failed grey 3D object" as a current trope--will get back to that eventually.

CCDS montage

CCDS_montage

Have been fooling around with a oekaki style drawing utility for a series of posts on the Computers Club Drawing Society website. The above montage was screencapped from my Windows 7 image viewer. All of the above drawings have been posted to CCDS except the bottom right one--I deleted it and made changes to it in MSPaint.

The above images are reduced/softened so you don't get the full effect of the old school black and white fill patterns that you get in the originals. It's been interesting to work with a program that's more painterly than I'm used to, though the drawings seem to be going in a cartoon direction.

No idea what this is but really like it. Found it in a post by lesnoo where it is a component in some kind of third stage guild navigator lettuce matter transporter.

"Trippmatic Variation"

"Trippmatic Variation" [mp3 removed]

A Frankenstein's monster (or munchkin) of electronic music influences based around a vaguely calliope-like analog synth patch. The drum and bass beats came from a mix I d/led several years ago. The website, Peaceoff, is still up but this mix appears to be history. The download came with a jpeg, however:
