1-Bit Drawings

1-Bit Drawings (html page with 14 monochrome bitmap drawings)

All posted previously except the one above. Have been wanting to see them on a single page without all the blog paraphernalia around them. All are original except the "galvanized chess piece" by Driessens & Verstappen I drew from an image on Vvork.

Drawn in Microsoft Paintbrush (a late 80s/early 90s program once part of the Windows office suite) using the monochrome pallette. HTML design was done using Seamonkey Composer. The page has been validated by html validators, at least.

"Attenuated Motion"

"Attenuated Motion" [mp3 removed]

This is sort of Ableton without Ableton or turntablism without turntablism. Six parts were written independently then multitracked and crossfaded. The only thing in common was the bpm--miraculously they were all in tune. This is more about the slippages between tracks--would like to do another mix where parts are in tighter sync, with some drum parts added and possibly more bass. All done with Reaktor and Cubase. The vibe is "dark '80s."

recommended: blog of semi-abstract sound and video by Rick Silva.

Video, still and sound objects arranged four or so to a page.

Self referential designs (e.g. mountainous ripples made with characteristic marching ants and faceted chains of photoshop outlining), moving 3D graphics (mountainscapes, again, are prevalent), complex polygonal shapes (some moving or vibrating, some not), and eerie, Alpine UFO sample-tones marred by pops and clicks (think Eno through a fried sound card) appear on full-frame pages, no text. What does it all mean? No wall labels, you're on your own. These are net art gems--enjoy while you can since this artist is constantly erasing his trail across the net.

Update: As expected, it went away not long after this post but then came back in January 2011.
